Dental reconstruction cost Barcelona: what it includes

Dentist checking a tooth with a mirror and a probe before rebuilding it

Rebuilding a tooth with composite costs €50 on our price list and is done in a single appointment. If the tooth has little structure left or has had a root canal, what it usually needs is a crown, at €270. Which option is yours is seen at the first visit, which is free, with an X-ray and a written quote.

If you would first like to know how the choice between composite, an inlay or a crown is made, it is on the page about dental reconstruction in Barcelona. Here we get to what each option costs, what the price includes, what is charged separately and how many appointments it will take.

What a dental reconstruction costs at the clinic

On our price list, a dental reconstruction costs €50. That line is for a tooth missing a large piece, whose shape is restored with resin, without a crown. If the cavity is small, a filling is enough, and it costs €40.

Composite is not the only way to save a tooth. Depending on how much of it is left, the price we give you may be a different one:

  • Composite in the same appointment: €50.
  • Zirconia or porcelain crown: €270, when little of the tooth is left or the tooth has had a root canal.
  • Lab-made inlay: for a gap too big for a filling and too small for a crown. It has no set price: it is closed in your quote.
  • Post: when the crown needs anchoring in the root. It is also quoted case by case.

What the reconstruction price includes

The €50 covers the full reconstruction of the tooth in the same appointment. It includes:

  • Removing all the decay, because the material does not bond well to softened tissue.
  • Building up the tooth in layers of composite, hardened with light.
  • Adjusting the bite with articulating paper, so the tooth does not hit too hard when you close.
  • The final polish, which leaves the surface smooth.

The exam and the X-ray that show whether the tooth can be rebuilt are part of the first visit, which is free. At the next checkup we look at the edge between tooth and material, which is where decay comes back.

What the price depends on

The price of each option is fixed; what changes is which one applies to you. That is decided by the structure of the tooth and the work it does when you chew:

  • How many healthy walls it has left. What counts is the side walls that are still whole and their height: with firm walls, composite is enough; with few, a crown is needed.
  • Which tooth it is. Molars carry the chewing load: a reconstruction that holds up at the front may fall short at the back.
  • Whether the damage has reached the nerve. Then a root canal comes first, and a tooth with a root canal needs protection so it does not split.
  • Whether you clench or grind. Bruxism changes the material chosen and usually adds a night guard to the plan.

What is not included and what it costs

Anything that is not the reconstruction itself is charged at its line on the price list, and you see it on the quote before anything starts:

  • Root canal: from €175, if decay or a fracture has reached the nerve. The price goes up with the number of canals in the tooth.
  • Night guard: €260, if you clench or grind and the rebuilt tooth needs protecting at night.
  • Oral cleaning: €30, if there is tartar to remove first.

If the tooth can no longer be saved, because the root is split or the fracture runs below the gum, we tell you plainly. Then extraction is assessed, which costs €40 if it is simple, along with how to fill the gap: the implant study is free and an implant with its crown costs €1,100.

How many appointments it takes and how long

A composite reconstruction is done in a single appointment: the tooth is prepared, built up in layers and the bite is adjusted, and you leave with the tooth finished. Before that, at the first visit, the exam with an X-ray is done and the option is chosen.

Anything made in a lab takes longer: an inlay needs two visits, and a crown is made from a scan, so it is not finished the same day either. A tooth that feels sensitive to cold for a few days is normal; one that still feels high when you bite after a week is not: let us know and it is fixed in a short visit.

Frequently asked questions

What does a dental reconstruction cost in Barcelona?

At the clinic, €50 with composite, in a single appointment. If the tooth has little structure left or has had a root canal, it usually needs a zirconia or porcelain crown, at €270. The first visit is free.

How much does a root canal with a reconstruction cost?

The two lines on the price list are added together: the root canal, from €175 depending on the canals in the tooth, and the reconstruction, €50. If little of the natural crown is left, a €270 crown goes on instead of the composite, with a post when it needs anchoring.

What is the difference between a filling and a reconstruction?

The size of what is missing. A filling, at €40, fills the hole left by a cavity in a tooth that keeps its shape. A reconstruction, at €50, restores the shape of a tooth that is missing a large piece.

Do the inlay and the post have a set price?

No. They have no line on the price list because they depend on the piece made for your tooth. We give you their closed quote at the first visit, which is free, together with the other options that work for your case.

Is a reconstruction worth paying for if the tooth is badly broken?

Only if there is healthy structure left for it to hold on to. With a split root or a fracture that runs below the gum, no reconstruction holds, and we tell you so before charging you anything.
