Smile design cost in Barcelona: €260 with a try-in in your mouth

In our price list, smile design costs €260. For that price you see a proposal on screen built from your photos and your scan, and you try it in your mouth with a mock-up before deciding anything. The initial exam isn’t charged, and the treatment that comes out of the design, whether veneers, whitening or orthodontics, is quoted separately and in writing.

What the €260 covers

Smile design isn’t a treatment; it’s the step that comes before one. It has four stages, and only two are included in that price:

1. Exam: free. We check your mouth, take the X-ray and the 3D scan and photograph your face at rest, while talking and while smiling, without leaving out the state of your gums and your bite.
2. On-screen proposal: included in the €260. On your photo we mark the lines of your face and propose shape, size and color. We adjust it with you: longer or shorter teeth, more or less even, a different shade.
3. Try-in: included in the €260. The mock-up is placed over your teeth, without drilling or bonding anything permanent, and you see yourself talking, smiling and biting with it.
4. Plan and quote: in writing. Once you approve the design, we give you the treatment you need, in what order, how many sessions it takes and what it costs, as a fixed price.

At each stage you decide whether to continue. Paying for the design doesn’t commit you to the treatment: its purpose is for you to decide while seeing yourself with the result in place, not in photos of other patients.

What the treatment that comes out of the design costs

The design shows what needs to be done, and the total depends on that. These are the treatments that usually come out of it and their price in our price list:

• Composite veneers: €70 per tooth. The resin is shaped on the enamel following the approved mock-up, almost always with no drilling. It’s reversible and can be repaired in the chair. More on composite veneers in Barcelona.
• Lithium disilicate veneers: €320 per tooth. Lab-made ceramic that holds its color and shine better, in exchange for removing a thin layer of enamel.
• Teeth whitening with cleaning: €250. If you want lighter teeth, it’s done before the veneers, because the gel doesn’t lighten ceramic or resin.
• Invisible orthodontics: from €1,490. When teeth first need to be moved before they’re reshaped.
• Gingivectomy: €30 per tooth or €250 per arch. If too much gum shows when you smile, the design may call for trimming it.

With veneers, the total is calculated tooth by tooth. The teeth that show when you smile are usually included, and how many there are in your case is set by the design itself.

What your final quote depends on

• How many teeth are included. Touching up the two front teeth isn’t the same as changing the whole visible part of your smile.
• Resin or ceramic. Resin means removing less tooth and can be touched up; ceramic costs more per tooth and holds its color and shine better. The choice depends on how much change you’re after and whether you want to be able to go back.
• Whether several treatments are needed. Orthodontics, gum work and veneers in the same mouth add up, and the design sets the order they go in and the shared result they all work toward.
• What your gums and bite allow. The design is a projection, not a guarantee. If something in the proposal doesn’t suit your mouth, we tell you at that same appointment.

How many visits it takes

The design is spread across the exam, the on-screen proposal and the mock-up try-in. What comes after goes in the written plan, with its order and its sessions.

Composite veneers can be finished in one visit, because the resin is shaped in the chair. Ceramic veneers take more visits, because they’re made in the lab. And if there’s whitening, it goes first, so the color of the veneers is chosen on the new shade.
