Invisalign cost in Barcelona: invisible orthodontics with Spark from €1,490

Hand holding two clear aligners, one for the upper teeth and one for the lower teeth

At the clinic, invisible orthodontics costs from €1,490 for both arches, with the 3D study and X-rays included and a fixed price. We don’t work with Invisalign: we use Spark, Ormco’s clear aligners, which are worn and changed the same way. The first visit, where we scan your mouth, is free.

This page is only about what you pay and what makes the figure go up. How the aligners move teeth, how Spark and Invisalign differ and who they suit are explained on the page about invisible orthodontics in Barcelona.

Why we give you the Spark price and not the Invisalign price

Invisalign is a brand, owned by Align Technology, and many people use the name for any clear aligner. We work with Spark, made by Ormco. Both are trays made from a scan and swapped for new ones at set intervals, and the person who decides which tooth moves and in what order is the orthodontist, not the brand of the plastic.

That’s why the figure we can give you is ours, with Spark. For the price of Invisalign, ask a clinic that works with that brand.

What the price from €1,490 includes

The starting figure appears that way on the clinic’s price list, and it covers three things:

  • The 3D study with X-rays. The scan maps out the planned path of each tooth and the number of aligners you need. It isn’t billed separately.
  • Both arches. The price covers the upper and the lower aligners, not just one set.
  • A fixed price. What the written quote says is what the aligner phase costs, from the first tray to the last.

What makes your case cost more

What moves the figure is how many aligners your mouth needs, and that can’t be guessed: the study works it out, and the study is free. Each set is worn for one or two weeks, so the number of aligners, the months of treatment and the price all appear together in the same plan.

The fewer teeth that need to move and the shorter their path, the fewer aligners you need, and those simpler cases get an extra discount. A bite that has to be corrected completely needs more aligners and a higher-priced plan. You’ll know which one is yours before you pay anything.

There’s also a prerequisite that can add to the cost: your gums have to be healthy. With severe gum disease, treatment doesn’t start until it’s under control. If that takes scaling and root planing, it’s €60 on the price list, and we tell you in writing before you start.

What you pay at the end: retention

When the teeth reach their place, there’s still one phase left. Without retention they tend to drift back toward where they were, as the 2023 Cochrane review on orthodontic retention notes. Retainers have their own rows on the price list:

  • Fixed retainer: €70. A thin wire bonded to the inside of the front teeth.
  • Removable retainer for both arches: €60. Clear trays you wear while you sleep.

After that, the usual routine is a checkup once a year to make sure the retainer is still in place and the teeth haven’t moved.

How many appointments it takes and how long it lasts

  1. Free first visit. We examine your mouth, take the scan and you leave with a written plan: number of aligners, estimated length and fixed price.
  2. Your first set of aligners, with instructions for putting them in, taking them out and cleaning them.
  3. A new aligner every one or two weeks, which you change yourself at home, plus checkups at the clinic to see that each tooth is moving as planned.
  4. Retention, with the fixed or the removable retainer.

If your case has two reasonable options, for example aligners or braces, we explain both at that first visit along with what each one costs, so you can choose knowing both figures.

What makes treatment take longer

Ormco, the maker of Spark, asks for the aligners to be worn 22 to 24 hours a day, and the plan is calculated on those hours.

If a tooth doesn’t reach the spot where the next aligner expects it, that aligner won’t fit: one may have to be repeated or your mouth scanned again, and the schedule stretches. If an aligner doesn’t seat properly, let us know as soon as it happens.

How to get your quote

To find out what it will cost you, the step is the assessment, which isn’t charged, and you leave it with the aligner plan and its price in writing. You can book an appointment online with your name, email and mobile number so we can call you, or call +34 639 65 33 51.

If you’d like to ask something first, write to us through the online dental consultation. The clinic’s other prices are on the clinic’s price list.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Invisalign cost in Barcelona?

We can’t give you the Invisalign price because we don’t work with that brand. Our invisible orthodontics uses Spark and costs from €1,490 for both arches, with the 3D study and X-rays included. Your exact figure depends on the number of aligners, and you get it in writing after the first visit, which is free.

Do clear aligners cost more than braces?

It depends on the case, so there’s no general answer. Invisible orthodontics has a starting price on the price list, €1,490; braces don’t have a fixed figure and get a fixed quote at the first visit. If both would work for your mouth, we give you the price of each so you can compare.

Is the 3D study charged separately?

No. The scan, the X-rays and the plan with each tooth’s path are part of the price. The first visit isn’t charged either, whether or not you decide to start treatment.

How long does aligner treatment take?

The number of aligners sets it, because each set is worn for one or two weeks: a few aligners means a few months, and a complex case takes considerably longer. The estimated length is in the written plan, next to the price.

How much does a retainer cost after clear aligners?

The fixed retainer costs €70 and the removable one for both arches €60, according to the clinic’s price list. Without retention, teeth tend to move back toward their earlier position, so it isn’t an optional extra but the last phase of treatment.
