Zirconia veneers cost in Barcelona: a fixed quote per tooth

Zirconia veneers don’t have their own line on our price list: we give you a fixed quote, per tooth and in writing, at the first visit, which is free. If what you’re looking for is a zirconia crown, which covers the whole tooth, that one is on the price list and costs €270.

If you’d like to know first what this material is and when it’s chosen, it’s explained on the page about zirconia veneers in Barcelona. This page is only about price: what the quote includes, what changes it, what the alternatives cost and how many appointments it takes.

How much zirconia veneers cost at the clinic

Zirconia isn’t the default veneer. It’s chosen for strength: for a tooth that takes a lot of force, a badly worn edge the veneer has to rebuild, or a very dark tooth that has to be covered without it showing through. That’s why its price is set with your case in front of us, at the assessment, and it’s per tooth.

For reference, our price list includes the other two veneers: composite, at €70 per tooth, and lithium disilicate, at €320 per tooth. At the assessment we tell you whether zirconia is worth it in your case or whether one of those suits you better.

Zirconia veneer or crown: what you pay in each case

If you came here looking for the price of a zirconia crown, it helps to tell the two apart. A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the visible side of the tooth, and the rest of the tooth is kept.

A crown is a cap that covers the whole tooth when it’s badly damaged. On our price list it costs €270, in zirconia or porcelain depending on the area and the force of your bite.

Which one you need depends on how much healthy tooth is left. If the tooth keeps its structure and what you want to change is its shape or color, a veneer is enough. If it’s badly broken down, what protects it is a crown.

What the zirconia veneer quote includes

The fixed quote covers the veneer treatment from start to finish. These are the steps it pays for:

  • Designing the veneer on the computer, from the scan of your mouth.
  • Preparing the enamel to make room for it, with local anesthesia if needed.
  • Milling the veneer from a block of zirconia.
  • Bonding it, with sandblasting of its inner surface and the adhesive this material calls for.

You take it home in writing, with the price for each tooth. The assessment beforehand isn’t charged.

What the price depends on

Two zirconia quotes can come out very different. These are the main reasons:

  • How many teeth get a veneer. The price is per tooth, so the total depends on how many need covering.
  • Whether zirconia is the right choice. When the aim is to remove as little enamel as possible, composite or feldspathic porcelain is the usual option; on a front incisor in a highly cosmetic case, glass ceramics look more like enamel.
  • Anything that needs solving first. If you clench your teeth, bruxism has to be under control with a night guard before the veneer goes on. And if there are gaps or rotated teeth, it’s worth ruling out whether orthodontics could fix them without touching the tooth.

What isn’t included and what it costs

Anything that isn’t the veneer is charged at its price-list rate and goes into the same quote from the start:

  • Night guard: €260, if there’s bruxism, so the wear at night falls on the guard and not on the veneer.
  • Smile design: €260, if you want to see the result with photos, a scan and a mock-up in your mouth before deciding.
  • Oral cleaning: €30, to remove tartar before the enamel is prepared.
  • Filling: €40, if there’s a cavity to treat first.

How many appointments it takes and how long it lasts

After the assessment comes the design, and with it a mock-up in your mouth before the tooth is touched. Once you’re happy with how it looks, the enamel is prepared and scanned; the veneer is designed on that scan and milled from a block of zirconia. At another appointment it’s bonded and adjusted.

Working with a design and a mock-up adds a few weeks to treatment, in exchange for not discovering the result when there’s no going back. If you have a date in mind, tell us at the first visit.

Frequently asked questions

How much do zirconia veneers cost in Barcelona?

At the clinic they don’t have a set figure on the price list: we give you a fixed quote, per tooth and in writing, at the first visit, which is free. For reference, a composite veneer costs €70 and a lithium disilicate one, €320.

How much does a zirconia crown cost in Barcelona?

On our price list, €270. A crown covers the whole tooth and is placed when it’s badly damaged, while a veneer only covers the visible side. It’s made of zirconia or porcelain depending on the area of the mouth and the force of your bite.

When is a zirconia veneer worth paying for?

When the tooth takes a lot of force, when a badly worn edge has to be rebuilt or when a very dark tooth has to be covered. If what you want is to remove as little tooth as possible, another veneer suits you better.

Does the tooth have to be filed down for a zirconia veneer?

Usually a little enamel is removed to make room for it, and how much is decided by measuring your tooth. You see it first with a mock-up in your mouth. If you’d rather not have the tooth filed down, a composite veneer, at €70 per tooth, usually doesn’t require it.

Is the night guard included in the quote?

It goes in the same quote, but on its own line: it costs €260. It’s only needed if you clench or grind your teeth, to protect the veneer at night.
