Composite veneers cost in Barcelona: €70 per tooth

Smiling patient holding a dental shade guide in both hands just below her mouth

At the clinic, each composite veneer costs €70 per tooth, and the amount doesn’t change from one tooth to another: the total is that figure times the number of teeth treated. The veneer is shaped in the chair in one or two appointments, with no lab involved, and the first visit, where we see whether composite fits what you want to change, is free.

Here we talk about what you pay: what the €70 covers, how the total is worked out, what can be added and how it differs from the price of porcelain. What composite is, how it’s placed and when it’s recommended are covered on the page about composite veneers in Barcelona.

What the €70 per tooth price includes

A composite veneer doesn’t go through a lab: all the work is done in your mouth, and that’s what the price per tooth pays for. In order:

  • Choosing the shade, with the shade guide next to your teeth.
  • Preparing the enamel. It’s almost never drilled down: the visible surface is cleaned and etched for a few seconds so the adhesive grips.
  • Shaping by hand, in thin layers of resin hardened with light, until the tooth has the agreed shape.
  • Final polishing, checking how you bite before you leave.

Before all that comes the assessment, which isn’t charged. At it we check your mouth, take photos and agree on what you want to change: a chipped edge, a stain, a small gap or the shape of a lateral incisor.

How the total is worked out

Only the number of teeth treated counts. A central incisor, a lateral incisor or a canine cost the same, so the quote is easy to predict:

  • One tooth with a chipped edge or a stain: €70.
  • The two central incisors, to close a gap between them: double that.
  • Several teeth in your smile: €70 for each one.

The more teeth involved, the more it’s worth thinking about the material. When many are treated and you want a color that doesn’t change over the years, at the first visit we also explain what doing it in ceramic would involve, with its price, so you can compare with numbers.

What can be added to the quote

The resin has to bond to clean, healthy enamel, so some things are done first. If the checkup finds them, they go into the same written quote, each at its list price:

  • Oral cleaning, if there’s tartar on the teeth to be covered: €30.
  • A filling, if a cavity turns up, which is always treated first: €40.
  • Teeth whitening with cleaning, if you want lighter teeth: €250. It comes before the veneer, because the gel lightens the tooth but not the resin.
  • A night guard (occlusal splint), if you clench or grind your teeth: €260. Without it, the force of your bite takes its toll on the resin edges.

Composite or porcelain: what changes in the price

On our price list, a lithium disilicate veneer costs €320 per tooth, compared with €70 for composite. The difference comes from how each one is made: ceramic is made in the lab and usually requires removing a thin layer of enamel; composite is shaped in the office and leaves the whole tooth underneath.

In return, composite needs more care. It picks up color from coffee, tea, wine and tobacco, and loses its shine over time; ceramic keeps its color and smoothness for more years. If a composite edge chips, material is added in the chair; a broken ceramic veneer usually has to be redone. You can see both options on the page about dental veneers in Barcelona.

How many appointments and how long it takes

With a healthy mouth, the treatment is short:

  1. Free assessment, with photos, a checkup and the plan in writing.
  2. One or two chair appointments, depending on how many teeth are treated, to choose the shade, shape and polish.
  3. Checkups, where the polish is touched up, which is what keeps the color.

If you need whitening first, the schedule gets longer: after whitening we wait about two weeks, because freshly lightened enamel bonds less well, and the resin shade is chosen on the new color.

Frequently asked questions

How much do composite veneers cost in Barcelona?

At our clinic, €70 per tooth, whichever tooth it is. The total depends only on how many teeth are treated, and if a cleaning or a filling is needed first, it’s added at its price to the same written quote.

Is the composite veneer price per tooth or for the whole mouth?

Per tooth. There’s no price per arch or for a full smile: each veneer is €70, whether it’s an incisor or a canine.

Why does composite cost less than porcelain?

Because it’s shaped directly in your mouth in one or two appointments, with no lab-made piece. A lithium disilicate veneer is made outside and costs €320 per tooth. A composite veneer is easy to repair, but it loses its shine sooner and needs polishing at checkups.

How long does a composite veneer last?

There’s no fixed term: it depends on how you bite and what you eat and drink. Over time it loses shine and some color, and that’s restored with a polish or a small repair at the office, without redoing the veneer.

Do I need whitening before getting composite veneers?

Only if you want lighter teeth, and then always beforehand. The gel doesn’t change the color of the resin, so a veneer placed first would end up darker. Whitening with cleaning costs €250, and afterward we wait about two weeks before bonding the resin.
