How much a children’s dentist costs at the clinic
On the clinic’s price list, pediatric dentistry has one line: the child’s first assessment visit, at €0. It is the key appointment, because everything else comes out of it, and we do not want the price to be the reason to put it off.
Treatments that may come later do not have a fixed published figure, because they depend on each child’s mouth and age. A small filling in a baby molar is nothing like treating the nerve of that same tooth. That is why, if your child needs something, we give you the price closed and in writing after the assessment.
What the free first visit includes
The first time is designed so your child leaves feeling calm. During that visit, at no cost:
- We show them around the office and explain each instrument in words they understand.
- We count their teeth and check for cavities, how the gums look and how the bite is coming along.
- We take X-rays only if the result will change what we do.
- We show you how to brush their teeth for their age and which fluoride toothpaste to use.
- We give you the plan in writing and, if something needs treating, its closed price.
If no treatment is needed, we tell you so, and there is nothing else to pay.
What the price of a child’s treatment depends on
When something needs treating, the quote changes from one child to another for these reasons:
- How far the cavity has gone. In a baby tooth the enamel is thinner and decay reaches the nerve sooner. If it is caught early, a filling is enough; if it reaches the nerve, a pulpotomy or a pulpectomy is needed, which takes more work.
- How many molars need sealing. Sealants are assessed when the first permanent molars come in, around age 6 or 7, and are quoted according to the ones that need them.
- Whether the bite needs guiding. Interceptive orthodontics, roughly between ages 6 and 10, has its own quote, which depends on the appliance the case calls for.
- How your child handles visits. If they are scared, we start with what does not bother them and leave the treatment until they feel comfortable, and the plan may be spread over more appointments.
What is quoted separately
Everything that is not the assessment is quoted in writing before it is done, and nothing starts until you have accepted it. The items that come up often in a child’s plan:
- Fillings in baby teeth, when the cavity has not reached the nerve.
- Pulpotomy or pulpectomy, which is the root canal treatment of a baby tooth.
- Sealants on newly erupted permanent molars.
- Interceptive orthodontics, if there is a narrow palate or a crossbite.
Treating a cavity in a baby tooth in time also saves money. That tooth holds the space for the permanent one, and losing it too early can let the neighboring teeth shift and create crowding that may need orthodontics later on.
How many visits and at what age
The first appointment is due when the first tooth comes in, and in any case before age one. Around age 3, with all the baby teeth in, comes the first full checkup. Between ages 6 and 7, sealants are assessed and the bite is checked, because if jaw growth needs guiding, that is the time to do it.
If you have more than one child, siblings’ checkups can be combined in the same appointment, and yours too: for a child, seeing mom or dad in the chair first takes away a lot of fear. Your own oral cleaning, if you need one, costs €30 on the price list.

What parents ask us about the price
How much does a pediatric dentist cost in Barcelona?
At the clinic, your child’s first assessment visit costs €0. If a treatment is needed afterward, we give you its closed price in writing, and you decide whether we start.
How much does a filling in a baby tooth cost?
It depends on how far the cavity goes, which is why we quote it after seeing it. If it has not reached the nerve, a filling is enough; if it has, the treatment is different and we explain it to you first.
Is it worth paying for a baby tooth that is going to fall out?
Yes. That tooth holds the space for the permanent one, and if it is lost early to a cavity, the teeth next to it can shift. Correcting that crowding later with orthodontics costs more than looking after the tooth today.
Can I bring my two children on the same day?
Yes. Siblings’ checkups are combined in the same appointment, and each child’s first assessment visit is free.
